GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

Government Relations

Working with a range of clients in the nonprofit sector, Marketing Works knows the importance of building strong relationships with government officials and community leaders to enhance opportunities for funding life-changing programs for individuals in need.

Our close relationship with Kerri Neifeld, the Commissioner of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), keeps us on the pulse of the latest news, services, regulations, and other pertinent developments impacting the delivery of person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through our connection with Commissioner Neifeld, Marketing Works has helped to organize important meetings between the Commissioner and nonprofit leaders, helping to enhance agencies’ relationships with the State, while providing opportunities for face-to-face tours of various nonprofit facilities. Commissioner Neifeld was Key Note Speaker at our client’s 2021 Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Event (organized by Marketing Works), honoring DSPs from nonprofit agencies across the New York area.

Legislative Breakfasts

Held at the offices of our nonprofit clients, our legislative breakfasts help to facilitate key introductions to New York State Assemblymembers, Senators, City Council leaders, and other elected officials. During these sessions, organized entirely by Marketing Works, nonprofit executives are given an advocacy platform to discuss pertinent issues related to their field of service, while showcasing their agencies’ myriad of services and dedicated staff. These influential meet-and-greets continue to help our clients build meaningful connections and raise awareness about underfunded programs serving some of the state’s most vulnerable populations. We also help to facilitate tours of nonprofit organizations to raise further awareness of our clients’ visions and missions to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges.

Community Relations

Marketing Works provides ongoing outreach to businesses and community organizations across the tri-state area to secure crucial donations, partnerships, and sponsorships for golf outings, virtual fundraisers, health fairs, and more. While networking with business and community leaders, we help solidify relationships that last well into the future, increasing opportunities for repeat donations and further support.
